This will be Matt's first year with Red Rock and his first season as a club coach. While studying at WSU, he helped coordinate and coach a variety of youth sports such as volleyball in the Pullman area. Over the last two years, he has become a part of the coaching staff at the yearly summer camp held by the D1 women's team at WSU. At the camp, he helped lead and coach a high school team during their practices and matches at the camp tournament.

Matt grew up in the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. During his time in high school, he played baseball and golf. He was on varsity all four years of high school, his freshman year in golf and his latter years in baseball. After high school, Matt attended Washington State University, where he double majored in international business and finance. While at WSU, he discovered his love and passion for volleyball on the beach courts. He then played for the WSU club team and then continued playing in competitive adult tournaments and leagues in Washington. He graduated in 2022 with a BA in business administration and now works as a bookkeeper for a financial consultant company in the east bay.

Outside of playing and coaching volleyball, he enjoys spending time with his friends, watching/playing sports and traveling.
