Breyan Ashley

Breyan Ashley grew up in a highly sports-oriented family, with basketball being the main focus. However, seeking her own path after following in the footsteps of her older siblings, she made a pivotal decision to give up basketball in the 6th grade. That's when she was introduced to volleyball, and it was love at first sight. From that moment, she never looked back.

Her volleyball journey continued into her freshman year where Breyan showcased her talent, and earned a spot on her varsity team, playing all four years in high school. By the end of her junior year, she had already committed to playing volleyball at Saint Mary's College of California.

After two unforgettable years at Saint Mary's, Breyan decided to transfer to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. However, after giving the Midwest a chance for a full year, she realized that she yearned to be closer to home. Thus, she made her final transfer, ending up at CSUEB for her last year of playing volleyball.

Even after her playing days were over, Breyan felt a profound sense of unfinished business in the volleyball world. She harbored a deep desire to give back to the community that had played an integral role in shaping her into the young woman she had become. As a result, she ventured into coaching, a path she found to be truly addicting and filled with valuable life lessons taught by the kids she mentored.

Currently, Breyan is in the process of completing her B.S. in Psychology at CSUEB, with aspirations to attend nursing school in the near future. She expresses immense gratitude towards volleyball and the transformative journey it provided her. Joining the Red Rock family would be a fulfilling step towards continuing her growth and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
