Sydney Jacinto

Sydney began her Junior Volleyball career as an OH at age 10. She played for 1’s teams from 12-15 at Solano, Xcel and PacRim. She helped her 12’s team earn a bid to New Orleans and the 15’s team to Detroit. She was the only Freshman to earn a varsity spot on her Las Lomas High School volleyball team and lettered for 3 years. She served as Co-Captain her Junior year.

During the indoor off-season, she conditioned by playing Beach Volleyball and loved it so much, she decided to transition off the court and onto the sand full-time at age 14 training under Derek Olson (Washington) and Paul Araiza (ASU). Sydney had a successful Juniors Beach career and was ranked 4th in the AVPFirst for 2 consecutive years. She competed year-round and had finishes in the top 5 for AVPFirst Nationals and Top 10 in USAV Beach Nationals.  Her goal to play D1 came to fruition when she committed to play in the PAC-12 at the University of Utah.

Sydney competed for 2 years before deciding to retire and focus solely on academics. She graduated with 2 Bachelor of Science Degrees in Psychology and Criminology in May 2025. She was also recognized as a PAC-12 Scholar Athlete and was on the Dean’s List for 4 years.

This is Sydney’s first year coaching both Beach and Indoor for Red Rock. She is excited to share her knowledge and give back to the sports that changed her life!
