This will be Matt's second year coaching with Red Rock. Outside of Red Rock, he is currently the head coach of both the Girls and Boys varsity volleyball programs at Cal High in San Ramon. Matt grew up in Pleasant Hill surrounded by volleyball due to his parents weekly playing at local gyms and tournaments. Growing up and in high school, he decided to focus on baseball and golf.

After high school, Matt attended Washington State University, where he double majored in international business and finance. While at WSU, he discovered his love and passion for volleyball on the beach courts. He then played for the WSU club team and then continued playing in competitive adult tournaments and leagues in Washington. He graduated in 2022 with a BA in business administration and now works as a Jr. Accountant for RBS, located in the east bay.

While studying and playing at WSU, he helped coordinate and coach a variety of youth sports such as soccer, basketball and volleyball in the Pullman area. He then soon found himself invited to the coaching staff at the yearly summer camp held by the D1 women's volleyball team at WSU. At the camp, he helped lead and coach a high school team during their practices and matches at the camp tournament.



Outside of playing and coaching volleyball, he enjoys spending time with his friends, playing a variety of sports and traveling.
