Courtney Sittinger

Courtney journey in volleyball began at the age of eight, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport. Starting with intensive five-day, overnight camps at UC Davis, she recalls fondly staying in college dorms and participating in rigorous "double days" of training led by experienced coaches and UC Davis athletes. It was during these formative years that Courtney developed a deep love for volleyball, embracing its challenges such as hard work, physical and mental resilience, teamwork, and personal growth.


Continuing her volleyball career, Courtney played for Club Vacaville, competing in both local and out-of-state tournaments.  At Vacaville High School, she excelled as a four-year varsity starter as Outside Hitter and Setter, earning "All MEL" honors throughout her high school years and achieving recognition as "Player of The Decade" by the Vacaville Reporter during her senior year. Courtney continued her athletic journey at Sacramento City College, competing as an Outside Hitter and contributing to the team's top-four finish at the State Championships in Los Angeles.


In 2003, Courtney transitioned into coaching, starting with club volleyball in Woodland and serving as a head coach at her alma mater. Over the past two decades, she has coached athletes of all ages, ranging from 10U to collegiate levels. Her coaching experience also includes mentoring youth and high school athletes at Solano College as she has an enduring passion for the sport and commitment to athlete development.


Courtney's coaching career spans over 20 years, marked by her dedication to empowering the next generation of volleyball players.
