Kim Eves

Kim is in her third year as the Men’s Assistant Volleyball Coach at San Ramon Valley High School, where she has enjoyed coaching her own son.

Kim was born and raised in Utah. She graduated from Taylorsville High School in Taylorsville, Utah. Kim was a four-sport high school athlete and was awarded Female Athlete of the Year her senior year. During high school she played club volleyball under the direction of Sam Atoa (Utah Valley University), Jason Watson (Arkansas), and Gary Mano (Stanford). She was grateful she heeded the advice of her high school coach, Cory Solomon (Bring It Promotions/Global Challenge Annual Volleyball Tournament Director) to play for Tom Peterson (currently at Southern Virginia University, multiple NCAA appearances and two national titles) when he took the coaching position at Salt Lake Community College. Kim led the Bruins as a setter under Tom’s direction and later worked alongside him at Nike and community volleyball camps. Kim was awarded the 1997-1998 Junior College Distinguished Academic All-American. After SLCC, Kim went on to play two more years at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). Kim helped lead the team to a Sun Belt Conference Championship and NCAA appearance in 1998. A back injury in 1999 limited her play, but the team still shared the regular season title. In 2000, Kim was awarded the Sunbelt Conference Medallion Award—In Recognition of Superior Achievements in Academics and Athletics.

Kim graduated from UALR with a degree in Mathematics. She continued her education at the University of Utah earning an MBA. While working on her MBA, Kim was the head volleyball coach at Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. She led the girls varsity team to their most successful seasons and a 6th in State finish. Kim took a break from coaching and focused on raising her young family after they relocated to Santa Clara, California and while they lived overseas. Upon returning to the states, as a mother of five young children, she coached her oldest daughter’s club team with kids in tow. Now that her children are a little older, and showing interest in the sport, Kim is enjoying getting back into coaching the sport she loves.

Kim works part-time from home as an office/accounting manager. She loves living in the Bay Area with her husband, Mason, and five children. In her spare time, she enjoys coaching her children in various sports (soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball), running Girl Scout meetings, traveling, giving back to her community, baking, and spending quality time with her family.
