Jhoanna Rollins

Jhoanna Rollins

Born in Cavite City, Philippines with a Filipino mother and German father, Jhoanna moved to California 1994.  She ran track throughout elementary and middle school, and heading into high school, she decided to change sports toward basketball and volleyball.  Jhoanna fell in love with volleyball and competed on the varsity team all 4 years, while earning MVP all four years as well. She was an outside hitter and middle blocker, but learned all positions because she knew she was going to be a coach one day to help young athletes.

As an athlete at age of 7, Jhoanna learned that it’s commitment with respect, patience, passion, dedication, determination, discipline, that student-athletes and good teammates aim to be supportive whether they win or lose, and to be respectful with any outcome. Her goals are to help athletes and encourage them to understand and love volleyball bases on her experiences.  When her family moved to California, she started competing in adult leagues, grass doubles, beach volleyball, and is now still competing in adult leagues in Vacaville.

Jhoanna started coaching in 2003, and has coached both on club and high school levels, while balancing marriage, and children.  She is blessed to have a husband, James, who has always been supportive and understanding, along with 3 beautiful children-Elyssa, Liam & Maddy. Jhoanna also enjoys cooking as well and on her spare time makes bracelets, keychains, earrings, graduation leis, tie dying and more.
